Giveaway #9

Up for grabs this week is a most beautiful skein!! I am keeping one for myself and plan to make a 2 color shawl for my Mom with it.

This particular skein that I'm giving away has some over-twisted strands in it. Not sure how long, but it doesn't look to bad at all! It is Luminosity (Superwash Merino, Bamboo and Nylon).

FYI: Just so you know, the second person drawn for the winner on Giveaway #7 was the winner. I still have not heard from the winner of Giveaway #8. So, you still have a chance at #8 if they don't come forward by Thursday!

If you are chosen the winner I will post on Friday in a separate post, you are responsible for contacting me by the following Thursday or I will draw another winner. angela@allforloveofyarn.com

You asked...

...I answer and give someone a FREE skein!  I've got a bamboo blend coming to the shop soon. I'll be dyeing it all up for Shepherd's Harvest and then it will come to the shop, unless of course someone wants a custom order, I'll be happy to oblige!

Here are the details:

Yet to be named ?? This is where you come in, details below!

70% Superwash Merino Wool
20% Bamboo (rayon derived from the bamboo plant), it has a touch much like silk
10% Nylon

465 Yards
115 gram skein

Okay, so you want to know how you can win this free skein of yarn?! I need a name for it. If you come up with a name that I like you'll win a free skein!

Keep in mind my other names that I have for my yarn, I'd like it to fit in (at least somewhat), we'll see...
Resplendence, Sumptuosity, Opulence, Sublimity, Soleful, Nogi, Lublu and Seella, the last 3 are Russian.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing what you come up with! Deadline until I get a name I like!

Thank you,
Angela

P.s. The 300th sale in my shop will get a surprise in their package! If you order yarn it will be yarn, if you order fiber it will be fiber!

Phat Fiber...

...I am so excited to be participating in the Phat Fiber box for the first time this beautiful month of May.  I have the perfect yarn for the theme, Blossoms and Bark, so I just couldn't not do it!  Here's a sneak peak! It is Kaleidoscope on Lublu, 100% Superwash Merino. It has 3 different pinks, light and dark purple, orange, green and brown. It's a beauty and soon I'll have a pair of socks so you can see what it looks like all knitted up!

My new...

...favorite, inspired by David's shirt. Just love it! I think I will have a test knitter knit it into a pair of socks for me. I dyed it a little differently than usual and would like to see how it turns out. I think it will be great! I call it Ocean Burst and it's available in my shop.

This way...

...or that? Not sure what I like better, I guess it all depends on the yarn. For more details about the yarn see each individual page. Nogi and Soleful Sock

Bliss...

...pure bliss! I had a blissful morning arising at 6:30 am without the kids! I made breakfast and ate it while I listed a few yarns in the shop. By 7 I was mixing up dyes for a batch on my new yarn, Soleful Sock. It is wonderful, it takes the dye so beautifully! It is 40% Baby Alpaca, 40% Superwash Merino and 20% Nylon. A super duty yarn! Great for socks, so wonderfully soft and warm! Best yet, you can machine wash it, but dry flat. As always I recommend hand washing, your knits will last all the longer, we spend so much time on them, we need them to last a long time, too!

How could I forget, I also dyed merino top today! What fun, so it's the second time I've dyed any type of roving, top, etc. It was fun, and I have more to do. It will be available in the shop soon as well. I did the same colorway as the Soleful sock yarn, but it looks so different. I love it, I wish I could spin it myself.

In case you're wondering David got up at 8:30 and Katya at 9! It was wonderful. On Thursdays my dear husband takes the kids out for a while so I also had some time to knit my shrug I'm wearing for my brother's wedding in June.

The kids and I went to the park later on and now they are in the tub. A great day, I'm tired and hopefully they go to bed soon. A cup of tea and I'm off to bed soon, too.

Testing...

....testing, new yarn base. It's a yummy one, too! 100% Superwash merino wool 490 yards in a fine fingering weight. Super soft and twisty! I'm trying out new yarn bases to see what I like the best. I just got a shipment today, some merino top fiber, too. Can't wait to dye it! This one is at the shop and more are coming soon, they are drying right now, hopefully tomorrow I'll get them re-skeined and ready to post for sale. This colorway is Sherbet, a soft and subtle mix of orange and pink. I've always loved orange and pink together. This yarn will make a great pair of socks or a nice lacy shawl or whatever you have in mind.

My socks are coming...

...to life! Take a look, I love them and they are fitting well. I love the yarn and it's been a joy to knit with. I don't get tired of the colors, there seems to be new colors emerging with every stitch. It is really fun to see it take shape into something I will wear! I can't wait to get them finished and put them on my feet! Defiantly no pooling in this colorway...I love the overall effect and dispersing of color which I try to do with all my colorways. You can find more information about the yarn Ravelry. I currently don't have any of this colorway for sale, but will soon. If you would like it on a certain base yarn please contact me via Etsy or Ravelry.
