Phat Fiber...

...samples are ready to go out in the mail tomorrow.
I was stumped when it came to this months' theme: The Music Box; nothing resonated with me, yes I like a lot of music, but I just wasn’t set on anything. One day I was thinking, why not just do some random one of a kinds (a lot of them) and let it be what ever you want it to be, when you see it, it can become what ever you think it should be. I put the dye on and let it be. Then I said out loud: LET IT BE: The Beatles! I can apply to both, your inspiration and it can be translated literally. So, here is
Let it Be I
Let it Be II
The samples, also available for purchase in my shop.

Long gone...

...is the November Tea and Yarn for non club members. I have good news though...

Since all of the Holiday Special Edition packages are gone as well, I am going to do another one for December and I'm thinking about Tea and Fiber for you spinners out there, too.  I'll post when they are available!
The next round for the Tea and Yarn Club will be January, February and March, and they are still available for purchase in my shop.

What a whirl wind...

...weekend we had! The Festival was a great success and so much fun! It was so wonderful to see all of my hard work pay off and especially to see everyone's reactions to my yarn in person. It was so great to meet all of you who visited me and get to know some of you a little more. I met some people that I've been talking with via email and ravelry for the past few months and that was so much fun. Thank you for making this festival a great success!
My dear Mom, known as Mama Lu since my daughter could talk, was with me at the festival to help me in whatever I needed. My son David was with us, so she was basically in charge of him. She was a great help so that I could talk with all of you who visited and not worry about taking money and writing receipts. I think she's going to get an extra special gift this Christmas! Thank you Mom!
The not so much fun part was the flat tire we had on the way home! I was just thankful that it didn't happen on the way to the festival in the morning; God is watching out for us and there must have been some reason that we needed to be delayed in getting home. My Mom would have changed the tire, but we couldn't get the darn spare tire out from underneath the van. Daylight was vanishing quite quickly and while Mom was loosening the lug nuts she made me crawl under the van to see if I could get the spare tire off. Do you think anyone stopped? No! It takes my husband 15 -30 minutes to get it off, extremely poor design on minivans he says. As we waited for my husband to arrive from 45 minutes away at my parents home she told me of the time when she was at a park in the days of no cell phones and no one around with 4 or 5 kids (I'm the first of 6) in tow, and a Suburban. She had a flat and she changed it, there was no choice, she just had to do it. Me, I was like, I have a phone and a husband who is able to come, or our insurance would cover the cost if we had no one to call.  She was quite determined to change it herself, but again the spare tire ordeal...

My husband got there and then 2 cars decide to stop and see if we need help, that would have been nice when I was laying under the van with my skirt on.

We made it home (to my parents) an hour later than expected. Katya was having a grand time getting into Mama Lu's lipstick when Boompa (Grandpa, also named by Katya) wasn't looking and she had her Aunt Hannah's clothes on. She didn't seem to excited to see me that's for sure, I think I was interrupting her fun!

We live 1 hour away from my parents home so I was stuck until Monday when I could get the flat tire fixed. We had planned on getting all new tires anyway so it worked out. I left the kids with Mama Lu and their Aunties and I headed to get the new tires and I actually enjoyed my time there spinning while I waited for the tires to be put on the van. I bought a new spindle at the festival, and couldn't wait to use it. I grabbed some fiber that didn't sell and had an hour all to myself to spin! I love new tires, especially before winter, they are worth every cent I paid.

I made it home Monday late afternoon and finally got the car unloaded this morning, actually my husband did it for me. He is such a wonderful man, what would I do without him I ask myself sometimes. I am a very blessed woman indeed!

I have the shop updated for now with more things coming a little at a time. I have to get an order ready for Kristin's Knit's in Rochester, Minnesota and then I hope to get some serious knitting done! I have a mental list of what I want to get done here pretty quickly. We are enjoying these last few days of nice weather first we spent the morning at the park, I think they are predicting snow come this weekend.

As promised to all of you at the festival I will have photos of my shawls and socks with links to the patterns on Ravelry very soon. I'll do that next if the kids stay sleeping! You can find it in the All Knitted Up! section in the right hand column.

Thank you again to all of you who made this fiber festival a great success for me.

Then it is up to you to vote on which one you like the best and that will be turned into yarn, on the base of my choice, that will work best for the colorway. The winner of the favorite photo will win 1 full skein (around 400 yards, either fingering or sport weight) of yarn in the new colorway!

A little yarn for our...

...wild side! Here's a peak at what I'm doing today. I changed the original World of Color up a bit and put in black instead of white! It's in the pot now and I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's dry and re-skeined! I still have 2 of the original in my shop. These 2 here are superwash merino and cashmere, yum, yum!

Bluebird in a tree...

...was submitted by Eskimimi (ravelry name) and I loved it at first sight and it got my vote, so I couldn't resist dyeing it! Thank you Eskimimi for submitting such a stunning photograph! It turned out okay, I think I want to do it again and focus more on the bird itself and not the background; leaving out the green and brown. It's a pretty colorway, but I don't think it captures the photo like I would like it to. The blue isn't quite right, etc, etc! Stay tuned...

It's been...

...too long since I've posted here! Summer has arrived and we've been doing a lot of biking and playing at the parks! Waseca has some great parks and we love them all, there is something new at each park as far as play equipment so it's fun to visit them all, and even I don't get bored!

My dear husband is in the kitchen making truffles! Coffee truffles, and he keeps coming in with something new for me to taste, first it was the coffee flavored chocolate (whoever knows my husband knows he makes the best coffee ever! ~ I don't drink coffee so I wouldn't know, but everyone who has had some says so!), anyway, then the toasted coconut, so sweet and yummy! Oh, in between those was a kiss...how could I forget! I'll show you pictures later...of the truffles!

I've been doing some dyeing, though. I'm getting an order ready for one of my local yarn shops in Rochester, Minnesota. This is exciting for me!

Here are some goodies added to my shop. Stop by and take a look, they are pretty yummy! The blue and tan are sport weight, this is new in the shop and also, the tan is one of a kind, so get it while it lasts! Sometimes the one of a kinds are the best and it's a beauty!

Phat Fiber...

...I am so excited to be participating in the Phat Fiber box for the first time this beautiful month of May.  I have the perfect yarn for the theme, Blossoms and Bark, so I just couldn't not do it!  Here's a sneak peak! It is Kaleidoscope on Lublu, 100% Superwash Merino. It has 3 different pinks, light and dark purple, orange, green and brown. It's a beauty and soon I'll have a pair of socks so you can see what it looks like all knitted up!

How could I forget...

...Kristen's Knits in Rochester, Minnesota will soon have my yarns in her store! I'm so excited about this, it's wonderful, I love to dye yarn and want other people to enjoy knitting with it as much as I do! Thank you Kristen and Becky!

The new yarns...

...are in and they are to die for! Next in the dye pot is Resplendence, 50% Merino and 50% Silk. It's sheen is luxurious, shiny and beautiful!  I will be finding some test knitters for this line and the others once I have some dyed. I can't wait to see and feel them knitted up. So, tomorrow I'm going to dye the merino silk blend in greens, and pinks, with a hint of orange and purple. I was inspired by my tea: Swiss Vervaine, my absolute favorite! It is from Teavana, a wonderful little store dedicated solely to tea and it's fun accessories! If you purchase this colorway I will send some tea, too! I will post pictures in a  few days! In the mean time I have new colorways worth taking a look at in the shop! Enjoy and Happy Knitting...Angela

My new...

...favorite, inspired by David's shirt. Just love it! I think I will have a test knitter knit it into a pair of socks for me. I dyed it a little differently than usual and would like to see how it turns out. I think it will be great! I call it Ocean Burst and it's available in my shop.

Bliss...

...pure bliss! I had a blissful morning arising at 6:30 am without the kids! I made breakfast and ate it while I listed a few yarns in the shop. By 7 I was mixing up dyes for a batch on my new yarn, Soleful Sock. It is wonderful, it takes the dye so beautifully! It is 40% Baby Alpaca, 40% Superwash Merino and 20% Nylon. A super duty yarn! Great for socks, so wonderfully soft and warm! Best yet, you can machine wash it, but dry flat. As always I recommend hand washing, your knits will last all the longer, we spend so much time on them, we need them to last a long time, too!

How could I forget, I also dyed merino top today! What fun, so it's the second time I've dyed any type of roving, top, etc. It was fun, and I have more to do. It will be available in the shop soon as well. I did the same colorway as the Soleful sock yarn, but it looks so different. I love it, I wish I could spin it myself.

In case you're wondering David got up at 8:30 and Katya at 9! It was wonderful. On Thursdays my dear husband takes the kids out for a while so I also had some time to knit my shrug I'm wearing for my brother's wedding in June.

The kids and I went to the park later on and now they are in the tub. A great day, I'm tired and hopefully they go to bed soon. A cup of tea and I'm off to bed soon, too.
